Cairo Wylde needs a reboot. Struggling to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of an unexpected tragedy, the former Green Beret turned academic is offered a generously funded research assignment in the rugged backwoods of East Texas. Sloughing off his initial skepticism, he accepts the challenge, recognizing the peculiar request as the much needed, elusive opportunity to recoup his gusto. With a background in anthropology, military training and experience working with large primates, it is an undertaking tailored to his unique skillset. The assignment - to seek out evidence supporting the existence of a large, unknown hominid - Bigfoot!

 

After enlisting the aid of his long-time friend and former brother-in-arms, Zach Elliott, the duo heads into the Piney Woods of East Texas. At the request of the benefactor and much to Cairo’s initial chagrin, they are accompanied by a small group of academics who are in the midst of conducting their own research into a similarly mysterious creature, a large black panther rumored to prowling the backwoods of East Texas. Shortly after beginning their adventure, Wylde and Elliott encounter a spirited, young journalist, Addison Rowe, who is investigating the suspicious death of an old friend. Unbeknownst to any of them, her daring reconnaissance mission has put her, Cairo, and the rest of his team in the crosshairs of yet another predator – a monster of the human variety…
